Marketing PRojects presents sizzling speech for 'Best Sausage' at the 2011 Food & Drink Awards

2,700 years ago Homer recorded that sausages were “packed with fat and blood” and Sausages were called bangers during the Second World War because they contained so much water they exploded when fried.
These days the quality is better. So much so that the value of the premium sausage sector grew by 7.3% in 2010.
90% of British households buy sausages. Every day, 5 million Britons will eat sausages, last year 186,000 tonnes, worth £653 million were consumed from British kitchens.
83% of sausages are made from pork.
Celebrity sausage eaters include Prince Charles, and weddings serving sausages include Footballer John Terry and Katie Price and Peter Andre. If successful weddings are anything to go by, not a good omen!
66% of sausages are sold by the top 5 supermarket chains,
