Summer Celebrations
Festivities are in order this summer for Chester based Marketing Projects. The PR and marketing firm has won the contract to promote Chester Festivals. Marketing Projects’ work on The Chester Food & Drink Festival was a considerable factor in the decision to award the combined Chester Festivals contract.
Jane Harrad-Roberts, 46, managing director of Marketing Projects said:
“Chester Festivals are a celebration of Chester’s culture, heritage and vibrant city life. There is such a diverse range of festivals, from the well-established Food & Drink Festival, that attracts the UK’s top celebrity chefs and showcases local produce, to the newer events such as the St Werburgh Festival, which has delved into our Anglo-Saxon heritage and brought it to life in and around the city centre. The Festivals enliven and enrich everyone’s experiences of Chester and are a great way to attract visitors to the city. They maintain Chester’s reputation as a historical and cultural hotspot and should be a yearlong source of pride for local residents of all ages.
Marketing Projects will help to establish the younger festivals and increase awareness of the complete and comprehensive festival programme for Chester, making each festival a “must see” event for locals and visitors alike."

Marketing Projects "fired-up’ in May 1995. In 1997, the business was named “Chester New Business of the Year” for “its growth, reputation and use of new technology”. In 1999 it won an award for its use of technology and its e-commerce web site from part of the DTI. In February 2000, Marketing Projects opened a London office in St George’s Street, Mayfair in London, a convenient meeting point for clients, editors and journalists. The Chester office moved to larger premises in August 2000 and doubled office space in 2002.
