Chester Hair & Beauty Retreat gets Makeover from Marketing Projects
A hairdresser who was rescued from a massive fire that ripped through Chester city centre has spent more than 1/4 million on a new health spa and asked Marketing Projects to help with promotions.
Steve Jones, owner of Urban Hair & Beauty Spa in Northgate Street, relocated from his Bridge Street store after fire caused smoke and water damage to his shop in January 2002, the night before the opening party was planned.
Steve was rescued by crews from Chester Fire Station and the building was shut down for three months. The fire totally gutted next door shop Just Sew, when fire spread through Chester’s historic Rows.
Steve, who employs 11 staff, has spent more than £250,000 on the refurbishment of the Beauty Spa that offers services such as massages, facials and teeth whitening to provide clients with the total care package.
More than 100 people including staff, family and friends attended the celebration of completion of months of refurbishment at the Northgate Street shop that was opened in June 2002.
Steve Jones, 35, of Hoole, said: “We have taken the salon to the next level delivering the total package and the whole beauty experience. Clients can now spend the whole day relaxing. We had a brilliant night and it was great to see clients mixing with friends and family.”
The refurbishments include another floor of hairdressing and the Beauty Spa also has a spray tanning room.
