Waltons keeps perfect time at Pageant of Power
Chester based jewellers Waltons sponsored the spectacular Pageant of Power at Cholmondeley Castle. The event, now in its second year, featured displays, exhibitions and trials of the best in historic sports and racing cars, boats and helicopters, culminating in prizes for the fastest on land, water and in the air.
Waltons, which is celebrating 100 years of excellence this year, was working with luxury watch brand Breitling to ensure the success of the event and a worthy prize for the winners.
Waltons had their own marquee where customers could see the latest collections of Breitling watches on display, with the magnificent backdrop of Cholmondeley Castle. Just behind the Waltons marquee was a Bugatti Veyron, the fastest car in the world, with a top speed of over 250 mph.
Richard Hogben, General Manager of Waltons of Chester, presented Breitling watches to the race winners following measured timings for all events from Breitling. Also presenting the prizes were the Marquess of Cholmondeley, joined by William Ferguson, High Sheriff of Cheshire, Miss Cheshire, Catriona Cameron and Tim Bradley, Northern Sales Manager for Breitling. Winners included, Stephen Batch, of Norwich, who won the 25 lap Breitling Formula 4 Grand Prix.
Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony, David Cholmondeley, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley, said:
“This has been a wonderful weekend. There is enormous potential to grow this. Thanks to those, including sponsors such as Waltons of Chester, who have been supporting and standing by us.”
Richard Hogben added:
“We were really pleased to be at this fantastic family event, which is getting bigger every year. Breitling watches are a firm favourite amongst our customers; it is wonderful to be associated with such an exciting brand. Cholmondeley Castle is the perfect setting for an historic motoring event of this kind and we have had a fabulous weekend here. We have had great feedback from our customers and look forward to supporting the event again next year.”
