Mayor toasts 100 years of Waltons
The Mayor joined in the festivities with colleagues from Waltons of Wrexham at a sparkling centenary celebration.
Waltons the Jewellers have demonstrated a hallmark of excellence for 100 years.
Waltons, which has 38 members of staff, was founded by Bertram Walton in 1909, during the reign of Edward VII. Waltons, of Hope Street, Wrexham, has a combined staff service of 450 years.
Cllr Arwel Gwynn Jones, The Mayor of Wrexham, said:
“We are delighted that Waltons of Wrexham have reached this significant milestone. Waltons of Wrexham is an important and much-loved part of the fabric of life in Wrexham.”
Ken Joinson, Manager of Waltons of Wrexham, added:
“We are delighted that the Mayor joined us for our 100th celebration. Waltons is one of the few independents in a prime location left in Wrexham. It is impossible to guess the number of wedding rings, engagements rings or items of jewellery purchased over the years and how much pleasure they have given.”
