Charity winners at Wrexham Mayor's dinner dance
Waltons donated some dazzling raffle prizes which raised thousands of pounds for children’s charities at The Mayor of Wrexham’s dinner dance.
Waltons of Wrexham, which this year is celebrating 100 years of excellence, donated an 18-carat diamond pendant and Clogau gold earings, pendants and cufflinks which raised £2,000 for charities including Hope House.
More than 160 business people, civic dignitaries and invited guests attended the Mayor of Wrexham’s charity dinner dance. The Mayor’s dinner dance is an annual tradition that itself dates back more than 100 years.
Cllr Arwel Gwynn Jones, The Mayor of Wrexham, said:
“We are delighted that Waltons of Wrexham have supported this fun event, which has raised a significant amount of money for children’s charities.”
Ken Joinson, Manager of Waltons of Wrexham, added:
“This is the first time that Waltons of Wrexham has been associated with the Mayor of Wrexham’s charity dinner dance and we were very proud to be there, especially as Waltons is celebrating our 100th year. Guests were given a box which contained chocolates and a raffle ticket.”
Clare Field won a Clogau gold pendant and earings. Mrs Field said:
“I was thrilled to win the jewellery, as Clogau gold is so beautiful and it is an added bonus that all of the money from the event will go to support the Mayor’s charities.”
