Queen"s join firefighters
Year Two girls at the Queen’s Lower School recently took on the roles of junior firefighters at the Chester Fire Station. Everyone took their turn to climb aboard a fire engine and pretend they were off on a ‘shout’. The girls were fascinated to see all the protective clothing which is required to keep fire fighters safe and all the equipment that is carried for emergencies.
The girls were a little surprised to see a boat at the fire station; all were able to get on board and were told about all the work the Fire Service does when not dealing with fires. The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the opportunity for each of the girls to squirt a big fire hose at an imaginary fire!
