Queen's girls go spotty for Children in Need
Girls at The Queen’s School pulled out all the stops last week for Children in Need, raising an impressive £600 for the charity.
Girls turned up to school last Friday wearing an item of spotty clothing, from jumpers to socks, in exchange for a donation to the charity. Along with this talented pupils in year nine baked hundreds of cakes and cookies to sell, there was a book sale held in the library and a fun competition where the pupils had to guess the teachers teddies.
A total of 190 cakes, 20 cookies, 13 chocolate Pudsey’s and 64 bags of sweets were sold and consumed in less than ten minutes and along with all the other activities a fantastic £600 was raised by the girls.
Year nine Kimberley Meredith, who was in charge of the bake sale, said:
“I am delighted at how quickly the cakes sold, although it was sad seeing the hours of work baking the cakes disappear before my eyes!”
Hannah Daniels, Charity Co-ordinator at the school, said:
“Once again the pupils at the school have been fully involved with fundraising for a worthy charity. We are so pleased that our total will add to the money raised by Children in Need this year.”
