Queen's girl takes to the skies
A 17-year-old girl from The Queen’s School, Chester, has recently completed her first solo flight in a 4 seater aeroplane.
Helen Murphy, who is currently in her first year of A Levels, is a member of the Shropshire Areo Club, where she has been learning to fly planes for the last year and took her first solo flight in a PA28 plane.
Since completing her first solo flight Helen, whose father is also a pilot, is even closer to obtaining her private pilot’s licence. She said:
“The flight was everything I wanted it to be. You never think you are going to be ready for it.”
Helen hopes to pursue a career in aviation.
