The Queen’s School in Chester has recently welcomed a new Chair of Governors, the first for six years.
Dr Christine Laine, who has recently retired from a distinguished career as a medical radiologist has succeeded Mrs Elizabeth Lunn who completed two terms (six years) as the Chair of Governors at the school.
Dr Laine has already been heavily involved at the Chester school since beginning her role at the start of the new school year, working alongside headmistress Mrs Sarah Clark in preparation for the recent inspections and looking at opportunities to expand the school.Dr Laine commented:
“The Queen’s School is a highly successful and vibrant school and I am delighted to have the opportunity to be the Chair of Governors. I am looking forward to working alongside the Headmistress, Mrs Clark, and her talented staff, who provide an innovative and supportive environment, where the girls can flourish and develop their talents and individuality to the full. Our school is in the heart of Chester and we embrace enthusiastically the unique blend of tradition, community and opportunity that the city offers”.
The Board of Governors meets at least four times a year to receive and approve reports and recommendations on a range of topics including the education character and aims of the school, strategic planning and financial matters.
