Hockey success at Queen's
The Queen’s School has welcomed a number of hockey achievements in several age groups since starting back at school this year.
The Under 19’s, 16’s, 14’s and 13’s have all reached high points in competitions and tournaments, from County wins to Northern successes.
The Under 19’s hockey team have reached the Cheshire Outdoor Finals in March after coming runners-up in the qualifiers.
The Under 16’s won both the County round and the North West round of the National Schools Tournament, taking them to Leeds to compete in the North of England round against eight other schools where they achieved bronze in the tournament. The team also won the qualifying rounds of the Cheshire indoor and outdoor tournaments meaning they will be competing again later this month and in March.
The Under 14’s also competed in the National Schools Tournament where they again won the County round and reached the North West round where they came third. They have also qualified for the Cheshire Indoor Tournament at the end of this month.
Finally the Under 13’s have recently won two noteworthy tournaments; the Packwood Haugh Invitation outdoor seven-a-side tournament in Shropshire and the Chester and District Under 13’s Indoor Tournament.
Mrs Sandy Littler, hockey coach at the school said:
“I am delighted with the success of all the teams at Queen’s during the first half of the season demonstrating their commitment and enthusiasm, keep it up in 2012!”
