This year’s event was sponsored by renowned kitchen manufacturer and retailer bulthaup, who also provided bespoke trophies for all the winners. Nigel Scott, owner of bulthaup Wilmslow, said:
“We at bulthaup in the North West were so pleased to be the main
Sponsors for the Northern Design awards, hosted by Concept for Living.
We view the North West as a treasure trove of talent, with our
architects, designers and developers producing some truly amazing homes
for us all. The opportunity to celebrate this collective of talent was good
excuse enough but then to also have Teenage Cancer Trust be our chosen
charity was icing on the cake. Gemma Atkinson stunned the judges with
her design, sponsored by Arighi Bianchi, for a teenage chill out room for
the soon to be revamped TCT centre at Christies. It was beautifully considered
and executed and resulted in an unexpected award, a real highlight for us
all at bulthaup. This years inclusion of luminaries from RIBA was a real treat
for the event and highlights the way ahead for next year’s awards in which we will be honoured to play our part again.”
Rebecca Drake, editor of Concept for Living, said:
“The 2008 Concept For Living Northern Design Awards attracted strong, diverse and exciting entries this year. The judges deliberated long and hard before picking the winners, illustrating that the calibre of interior designers and property developments in the North is second to none. The glittering awards dinner at Chester Grosvenor and Spa provided the perfect setting to celebrate the continuing success of northern design.”
