Gemma gets set for return to Chester
Gemma Atkinson, who made her name in Chester teen soap Hollyoaks, is returning to Chester to create her own room set as part of the Home & Garden Show.
Actress and model Gemma, who also starred in I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here, will be designing a stylish room suitable for a teenager in conjunction with the Teenage Cancer Trust and Arighi Bianchi.
The Home & Garden Show, which is being held at Chester Racecourse, is the first time Gemma has branched out into design. Her creation will be unveiled at the Show, which opens on Friday May 30 and runs to Sunday June 1 with Gemma’s design on display throughout the event. Gemma’s room will form the basis for a suite for teenage cancer sufferers which Macclesfield’s Arighi Bianchi will go on to create full-scale for Christie Hospital in Manchester.

Other celebrities at the Home & Garden Show include flamboyant interior designer Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, who will be offering tips on the main stage on June 1 and TV gardener Diarmuid Gavin, who will be on the main stage on May 30 and May 31.
Show highlights will include a series of cookery demonstrations by Simon Rimmer on May 30, free one-to-one advice from qualified interior and garden designers and hundreds of stands by market-leading homes, gardens and food companies.

A host of up-and-coming garden and interior designers will be creating show gardens and room sets at this year’s Home & Gardens event, all hoping that theirs will be the one to capture the public’s imagination. Visitors to the show will be invited to vote for their favourite room set or Show garden and those with the most votes will receive their awards at the pinnacle of the Home & Garden Show, a glamorous awards evening and dinner at the Chester Grosvenor & Spa on Saturday May 31.
