Frightening growth at Spooky World
Spooky World was shortlisted for Best Family Attraction/event in the Screamie Awards 2008 and intends winning an award for 2009. This year visitor’s figures are already smashing the best expectations, David Fryer, managing director of the park near the M6/M56 junction, was expecting 32,000 visitors for this year but has already achieved 35,000 visitors so far, two thirds into the ‘spooky season’.
Popular demand has meant that Spooky World’s bonfire night celebrations this year are spread to three nights 5th, 6th and 7th November this year. Fireworks are being set alight by an expert from the Health and Safety Executive, with a budget for fireworks double last year’s.
The Spooky World park is now eight times bigger than when it opened three years ago. It will continue to deliver until the 10th November, what is considered by visitors as “the scariest day of the year”; their visit to Spooky World near Warrington.
David Fryer, managing director of Spooky World said;
“We’ve had really positive feedback from visitors about Spooky World and what is on offer here. Every year we invest in making the park a place everyone wants to return to every year, fun by day and scary by night. This year we have an even more Haunted House and a larger and scarier Field of Screams and Haunted Hayride. Other attractions include the Forbidden Forest, the Trick or Treat Maze, ghost stories, pumpkin carving, live mini Halloween shows and a roller disco. There are plenty of things for everyone to do.”
