Ring O'Bells hits the right floral note at Village Show
The Ring O’Bells, one of the top 20 pubs in the nation, as recognised by key industry figures, has won the best floral display at the annual Christleton Village Show.
The landmark pub, which also won the Family Friendly Award at the Chester Food & Drink Festival in April, entered the Best Hanging Basket competition at the Christleton fete and won a trophy for gaining first prize.
Owner of the Ring O’ Bells and Modern British Taverns, Ian Wade has watered the baskets outside the pub regularly in the hot weather and spoke a few words of wisdom:
“We are delighted to have won this competition, although it’s not the winning that counts but being a good competitor. We are pleased to hold the trophy and to go beyond the limits of just being one of the top 20 pubs in the nation.”
The Ring O’Bells also won Silver at the Chester Food & Drink Festival 2009 Gala Awards in the best Newcomer category.
