Beating the crunch: Celebrity chefs at North West Food Lovers Festival
TV chef Simon Rimmer will be one of many star chefs offering helpful hints to beat the credit crunch at the North West Food Lovers Festival later this month. Top chefs from Michelin starred kitchens, Simon Radley and Michael Reimenschneider will also be on hand at the Festival to offer expert cookery advice and inspiration.
Swiss chef Michael is taking Juniper, the only restaurant in Greater Manchester retaining a Michelin star, to new heights and the renamed “Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor” finally honours its famous chef, who ensures the restaurant has kept its Michelin stars over the last 18 consecutive years.
Visitors can look forward to a jam packed set of events including cookery demonstrations by North West chefs Andrew Nutter, Paul Askew, Leigh Myers, Brian Mellor and Paul Taylor.
All the key North West producers are expected at Tatton Park, many members of the North West"s “Made ins” Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria. Visitors will be able to try and to buy the best from over 100 vendors.
To make sure some of the “best of the North-West” recipes are always available at home, advance copies of the new “Home Grown Cookbook” can be ordered, featuring the most popular North West chefs ideas and expertise.
Competitions are on the menu too, with the chance to win free meals at some of the North-West"s top restaurants and weekend breaks at luxury hotels topped off with, of course, the best in North West Food.
Simon Rimmer said:
“This will be a really great event. Tatton Park is the perfect location for an event of this kind, right in the heart of the North West. I am delighted to be taking part and am aiming to give a cookery demonstration that will defy the credit crunch. The North West of England has the most diverse agriculture in the whole of Europe, with fantastic food producers, brilliant people and produce.”
The Food Lovers Festival at Tatton Park, 25/26 October, encompasses the annual Knutsford Festival, which will continue through October 27 to November 1. It will be a celebration of all the North West"s culinary talents.
