Guest speaker announced for networking group’s seventh birthday
Novus Young Professionals returns to Corks Out, seven years after its launch in the wine cellars there to reflect on what makes Chester so special.
The last event was held at the newly launched Oddfellows in October with a speech, a ‘Q&A’ session and ideas for Chester to hit the headlines from national press guru Jay Williams.
For November’s event and by member request, young professionals attending will hear from Colin Potts about the visitor economy and “What Chester needs to do to become a must see European city”.
An important contributor to Chester’s business and leisure scene, the visitor economy has a major impact on us all, generating 9.5 million visitors who spend £500 million in the city, fill 3,500 guest beds and provide 7,300 jobs.
Colin has been involved at senior level in tourism in Chester for 12 years,
laterally at Chester Renaissance. He has now founded his own business, Destination Focus, to help cities make the most of the visitor economy.
Colin will speak at Katie’s Tea Room in Watergate Street, Chester at ‘teatime’ on Friday 27th November at 5.30pm. The event costs a ‘recessionary’ £18.50 and includes Tea, coffee & cakes. The celebrations continue over the road in the cellars at Corks Out with six different wines to taste. More information from james@marketingprojects.co.uk or 01244 330000.
