Guest presenter at PRWeek Awards returns to speak at Novus
Jay Williams is returning to Chester as the guest speaker at next month’s Novus Young Professional networking event. Born in Tarporley, he began his career as a cub reporter at the Chester Observer.
Later in October he will be the guest presenter at the UK communications industry’s ‘Oscars’ the PRWeek Awards. Attendees will have the first opportunity to see the new Oddfellows and meet new executive celebrity chef Richard Phillips.
Speakers at Novus events are notable for their achievements and Jay is no exception. Along the way he uncovered the “Fred West story” and was the only in-depth interviewer of J.K.Rowling at the launch of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
At Sounds magazine he interviewed bands in the UK, Europe and the US, writing gig and album reviews, and got paid for it! Some years ago he co-founded press agency 72 Point, now part of SWNS the UK’s largest independent press agency & newswire. He remains Chief Creative Consultant with a contact book to die for and both an in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of Fleet Street and of an editor’s mind. You may recognise him from his appearance in ITV2’s WAGs Boutique.
Speaking about Novus, Jay added; “I understand from Marketing Projects that the last event focused on local and regional press coverage. Attendees requested a Q&A session on national coverage, so I will be giving out some tricks of the trade and inspiration to put Chester and Chester based organisations on the national map again – in a positive way.”
Jay will speak at Oddfellows in Bridge Street, Chester on 2nd of October at 12 noon. The event costs a recessionary £27.50 and includes a wine reception and two course lunch. More information from james@marketingprojects.co.uk or 01244 330000.
