Las Vegas comes to Chester

Stars came out to support a Vegas inspired charity casino event which raised thousands of pounds for charity.

More than £4,000 was raised for the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital when 80 people attended a special Las Vegas Evening at the Mill Hotel & Spa Destination, which including dinner, cabaret, bands and a Charity Fun Casino, with more than £1,000 of prizes to be won plus auctions.

Former Brookside actor Vince Earl joined Bunny girls for the star packed evening. Infact, the response was so good that The Mill Hotel has decided to hold a Charity Casino every Friday night along with cabaret and dancing until 1am.

Gordon Vickers, Managing Director of the Milton Street based hotel, said:
“I’m keen to support anything connected to charity and am particularly pleased to support The Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, who do a marvellous job. These are fun evenings with charities receiving hundreds of pounds each week. We at the Mill Hotel enjoy charity fundraising. I have found that people will give to charity if they are enjoying themselves.”

Carol Kirkham, Fundraising Manager for the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, added:
“This is a significant amount of money raised for the Hospital and we are grateful to The Mill Hotel & Spa Destination for hosting this fantastic evening.”

The Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital has developed into one of the largest heart and chest hospitals in the UK.

Any charity wishing to be put on the list must write in with their respective charity number to: Mill Hotel Charity Promotions, Milton Street, Chester CH1 3NF.

Situated on an historic Roman site in the middle of the City of Chester, the Mill Hotel and Spa Destination was opened by its present owners in 1987. The original Griffiths Cornmill building dates from 1830 and great care has been taken to sympathetically incorporate many of the original architectural features during the conversion into a hotel.

The Mill has been extended in recent years with the addition of the impressive south wing, linked to the original building via a glass walled bridge over the Shropshire Union Canal reminiscent of the City of Venice.

The hotel can rightly say it is Chester’s complete hotel and leisure destination with 129 en-suite bedrooms, Free Wi FI Internet, extensive dining and restaurant options, conferencing facilities, and unrivalled leisure facilities including Beauty Spa, Nail Bar, Hair Salon and unrivalled leisure facilities including a Technogym Gymnasium, Kinesis Studio, Pool, Sauna and Steam Room. It has the highest occupancy figures of any Chester hotel.

Dining options include the Canaletto and the Flambé Steak restaurants, the Restaurant Cruiser, Peppermill Trattoria and Real Ale Bar and Deli Counter.
