"Five-Star" Stop Off for Charity Walk
Hordes of hungry walkers in need of refreshment during a charity walk in Chester were provided with bacon butties and cups of tea care of The Mill Hotel & Spa Destination.
Members of Chester Business Club who undertook the six-mile charity walk received their sustenance at a stop off in Eccleston, which was provided by the Milton Street based Hotel for the fifth year running.
Gordon Vickers, co-owner of The Mill Hotel & Spa Destination, has been a member of Chester Business Club for more than 15 years.
Mr Vickers said:
“I am delighted to fly from Gibraltar to support this worthwhile cause, which we’ve done for many years. I’m keen to support anything connected to charity and am particularly pleased to support Chester Business Club, who do a marvellous job. In my opinion, Chester Business Club is one of the best organisations in Chester, representing a broad spectrum of businesses in the city.”
Secretary of Chester Business Club, Bob Clough-Parker, added:
“Gordon is a long standing member of the Club. It’s wonderful he’s taken the time and trouble to come back from Gibraltar for the event. This is a feature stop for the walk – The Mill Hotel Spa and Destination offer a five-star operation.”

Situated on an historic Roman site in the middle of the City of Chester, the Mill Hotel and Spa Destination was opened by its present owners in 1987. The original Griffiths Cornmill building dates from 1830 and great care has been taken to sympathetically incorporate many of the original architectural features during the conversion into a hotel.
The Mill has been extended in recent years with the addition of the impressive south wing, linked to the original building via a glass walled bridge over the Shropshire Union Canal reminiscent of the City of Venice.
The hotel can rightly say it is Chester’s complete hotel and leisure destination with 129 en-suite bedrooms, Free Wi FI Internet, extensive dining and restaurant options, conferencing facilities, and unrivalled leisure facilities including Beauty Spa, Nail Bar, Hair Salon and unrivalled leisure facilities including a Technogym Gymnasium, Kinesis Studio, Pool, Sauna and Steam Room. It has the highest occupancy figures of any Chester hotel.
Dining options include the Canaletto and the Flambé Steak restaurants, the Restaurant Cruiser, Peppermill Trattoria and Real Ale Bar and Deli Counter.
