Keep warm this winter with Cucina's Chocolate Chilli Brownie
School catering company Cucina Restaurants has introduced its new Chocolate Chilli Brownie to heat things up this winter when temperatures get chilly too!
The brownies, which previously concealed a healthy heap of beetroot, have been spiced up with hidden chilli’s grown locally to a large number of the company’s school restaurants and supplied to all.
The initiative behind the new Chocolate Chilli Brownie winter warmer is, like the pizzas with vegetables grated up into the dough, to give children food which they will enjoy eating as well as having improved nutritional value.
Steve Quinn, Managing Director of Cucina, said:
“We, like most others, want to see the younger generation eating healthily but we know that they’re not going to eat carrot sticks all day. By filling the foods that kids want to eat with hidden vegetables we know they’re getting the nutrition they need. We know that a chocolate brownie isn’t going to be super healthy even with the chilli’s inside but the meals which accompany them are. A healthy balance which includes the occasional indulgence we feel is the most successful way to get kids eating well.”
Cucina’s new Chocolate Chilli Brownie is available at all of Cucina’s 37 school restaurants up and down the county.
Cucina Restaurants Ltd. serves fresh food to 50,000 pupils at 37 contracts up and down the country and is committed to providing quality, healthy meals at all schools. The School Food Trust has just chosen a case study about how it does this for its web site.
