Cucina puts the icing on the cake
Birthday cakes, balloons, streamers and homemade pizzas are some of the goodies offered by catering experts Cucina at individually tailored birthday parties.
Cucina, which serves fresh food to more than 25,000 pupils at 30 contracts, delivers birthday parties for pupils up and down the country including Southfield School in Kettering, Flixton High School in Manchester and St.Albans Girls’ School in Hertfordshire.
The lunch-time birthday parties have proved extremely popular with the students; there is a special area for party members, who can sign a birthday card which has been signed by all of Cucina’s team in the restaurant.
Ian Morgan, Cucina Executive Head Chef, said:
“When the birthday cake is brought out after the main course the whole restaurant sees it, which can be 300 pupils at once, which is fantastic. Our birthday parties make birthdays special over lunch-time, which is often forgotten about during your birthday at school.”
Lyn Lorentzen, School Business and Finance Manager for Southfield School Specialist Sports College, said:
“Cucina’s birthday parties create a fun birthday atmosphere and uptake has been high. This is another example of Cucina’s innovative approach to delivering school food.”
Paul Lerwill, Acting Deputy Head of St.Albans Girls’ School in Hertfordshire, added:
“The girls really enjoy having Cucina’s birthday parties. The birthday girl is made to feel special, particularly when the chef brings out a birthday cake, complete with candles, and the others all enjoy the attention the party receives.”
Ruth Bancroft, Business Director for Flixton High School, said:
“The birthday parties are a real hit with our students particularly in the lower school. It is lovely to see the students enjoying their birthdays in style with their group of friends.”
