A Million Shades of Pink

A brand new play from 11 young writers from Cheshire will be brought to life this weekend when it is performed for the first time during Chester Oyez! A Million Shades of Pink is being presented as a script-in-hand performance at Kingsway Campus, University of Chester at 2pm and 7.30pm on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th October 2008.

Amber Knipe, Chester Performs Project Coordinator, said:
“This promises to showcase the talent and ambition there is in young people in Cheshire. The 11 young writers have worked collectively with Kevin Dyer, Action Transport”s Associate Writer since January to create this original and exciting piece of theatre."

A Million Shades of Pink is a (very) truthful, (very) funny play about love, betrayal and growing up (very) fast. It is the story of a teenage girl who on the last day of school decides to change her life. She dumps her long-time best friend to spend time with Kayleigh. This is a play about self-image and how we change our outsides in an attempt to redefine what we are inside.

Following a week of rehearsals and workshops, A Million Shades of Pink will be performed, script-in-hand by four professional actors. Each performance will be followed by a post show discussion where audience members are invited to ask questions of both the actors and the writers.

A Million Shades of Pink is being performed at 2pm and 7.30pm on Saturday and Sunday October 18th and 19th. Tickets cost £5 or £3 concessions and can be bought from www.quaytickets.com 0870 4280 785 or Chester Tourist Information Centre 01244 402111.
