CDHT Customer Service team Gains new Qualifications
Eleven colleagues from Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) have been awarded qualifications as part of an on-the-job training scheme.
Louise Bryant, Christine Davies, Ashley Denham, Angela Graham, Colin Keenan, Liz Kent, Lindsey Lewis, Carol Page, Jacqueline Reilly, Leanne Rowlands and Sharon Shorrock were presented with an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service by CDHT Chief Executive John Denny. The special awards ceremony was held at CDHT’s Centurion House, Northgate Street headquarters. The qualifications, which are delivered by Skills Solutions, are part of a range of workplace learning courses that are being supported by the Housing Trust.
To achieve the NVQ, which is awarded by the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, colleagues completed coursework and took an exam at CDHT’s Centurion House learning centre, studying in their own time as well as being allocated time to learn during work time, over the last six months. Everyone who started the NVQ has completed it, some members of the team not having taken an exam for many years.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, John Denny, Chief Executive of CDHT, said:
“This is great – I take my hat off to everyone taking part. There is a real centre of learning here at CDHT. Every person on the programme has achieved the accreditation, which has involved a massive investment of your time. This is a superb effort, which shows your commitment to the Trust.”
Mike Statham, HR Learning and Development Officer for CDHT, added:
“The NVQ2 in Customer Services is part of a range of training courses for colleagues that the Trust is supporting. Courses are also available in Maths and English, ITQ (Information Technology Qualification, delivered with Mercia Partnership), and Business Admin, delivered by Skills Solutions. The latter is also providing NVQs for our tradesmen in various skills including an NVQ in multi-skilling.”
