Spring Clean Up in Malpas

A community came together to clear three skip loads of rubbish in a rural village near Chester.

Apple trees have been planted by pupils of St Clare’s Catholic Primary School, Lache with help from Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) and Lache Neighbourhood Management. The community got together to provide the trees to help pupils learn about gardening and provide much needed foliage near the school.

The biggest and most comprehensive survey of employee opinion has ranked Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) as 27th of the Best Companies to Work For in the UK in The Sunday Times Top 100 listing. CDHT appears for the fourth year running and with its highest ranking ever.

Carrots, beetroot and rainbow chard were on show when Lache Garden Village Allotment Project and Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) signed to agree recently that land owned by CDHT and outlined for building could be used by the Project until September 2014, a total of 5 years. This means that the land continues to help Lache residents develop new skills and increase community links as they ‘grow their own’.

Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) has appointed two board members, Jane Stephens and Michelle Hallmark. Jane has been co-opted to the Board for the past six months and now joins as an independent director and Michelle is newly co-opted to the board, in addition to her role as Regional Communications Manager at The Bridge Group in Greater Manchester.

A new social enterprise which will run assets worth more than £30 million in an area of Chester is recruiting for an independent Chair to deliver improvements in services and opportunities.

Thirty four colleagues from Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) have been awarded qualifications as part of an on-the-job training scheme which gives residents a better service.
