Business Professionals Win at 'Casino Royale' for Charity Evening
The new super-smooth Chester born James Bond, Daniel Craig would have felt at home playing roulette and black jack at a casino event in Chester recently. An array of the city’s glitterati turned out to raise thousands of pounds for charity at The Groves at Souters Lane near the River Dee.
Over 120 business professionals working in and around the city raised more than £2,350. All the proceeds were donated to Claire House Children’s Hospice.
AMS Business Sales, based in Watergate Street, Chester organised the annual event and the excitable gamblers for the night exchanged their donations for fun money. The prize-fund was split between the winning Mr Bond and Ms Bond who won the most money on the tables.
Adrian Ward, managing director of AMS who organised the casino evening, said:
"The event was lots of fun and most importantly of all a substantial amount of money was raised for charity. We take our business money very seriously but I think everyone enjoyed having fun with their ‘Casino Royale’ money."
The jackpot prize of vouchers for the Trafford Centre was shared by Sarika Chuni of Walker Smith Way who compiled a mammoth total of $923,000 of fun money on the poker tables and Robert Williams of Williams & Co who made $670,000 on the night. Last year’s winner Louise Wilson of Brighter Choices won a lucky dip prize this year of a Magnum of Champagne and the winners collected their prizes from Adrian Ward (see photos).
Speaking on the night Abby Smith, fundraiser for Claire House, said:
"It’s been a wonderful evening. The total raised of more than two thousand pounds means a lot to us at Claire House, as we totally rely on donations."
The event was organised and sponsored by AMS Business Sales, the prize was sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland, Bibby Financial Services, Business & Tax Solutions and Walker Smith Way.
Lots of additional amusing photos available!! Donations to Claire House will result in them being destroyed.
