Thebestofchester's efforts rewarded with 'fastest growing tech' title

Thebestofchester, along with other franchisees in thebestof group, have been rewarded for their efforts by being announced as number 3 in this year’s Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 annual league table, published this weekend.

“We’re absolutely delighted”, said Paul Daniels who runs thebestofchester. “thebestof couldn’t have entered the listing any faster, as it was only set up two years ago. So to not only make the Tech Track 100 grade, but also go straight in at no.3 shows just how far we have come, and how fast. The thebestof concept has just taken off with local people and businesses, which is why we are growing at such a rate.”

Thebestofchester is one of a network of sites around the country which champion over 65,000 great local businesses in their communities. The sites receive over 1 million visitors every month making thebestof one of the most popular websites in the UK and Thebestofchester is now one of the most popular sites in Chester.

In its seventh year, the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 annual league table ranks Britain’s one hundred fastest growing private technology companies by their sales growth over a two-year period, to their latest available accounts. As such it is considered a barometer of the UK’s most exciting technology businesses.

Thebestof clearly fits this description. Nigel Botterill founded the company in July 2005 with his wife Sue. Since then it has become the fastest ever-growing franchise company.

Thebestofchester is part of a 360 franchisee network spread across the whole of UK. Thebestofchester actively promotes some of the best local businesses, with an extensive review page allocated for each, as well as restaurants, places to go and things to do within the area. Reviews were launched on the site in the summer and have quickly grown popular with 20,000 reviews added nationally in September alone.

Furthermore thebestofchester is launching its own network groups on Thursday 18th October at Chester Racecourse, and monthly awards and many more initiatives are planned to be unveiled over the next few months.

Nigel Botterill, CEO of thebestof concludes: “Without thebestofchester’s excellent service to its community we wouldn’t have grown the way we have. Paul Daniels is an invaluable asset to the team and richly deserves to share in this achievement.”
