Grand Designs for the North: Awards Approach 10th Year
Kevin McCloud would be proud of the standards of design in Cheshire as talented interior, garden designers and property developers are being urged to enter the prestigious Northern Design Awards. Designs from all over the county will compete at the Home & Garden Show where they will be seen by thousands of people.
There are three categories for the Northern Design Awards, which are the pinnacle of the Home & Garden Show, being held at Chester Racecourse from May 30 to June 1. There are 14 Northern Design Awards which feature a public vote and judges’ Award for interior and garden design, as well as eight Awards for property developers, builders and architects.
Winners will be announced at a glamorous awards ceremony held at the Chester Grosvenor Hotel & Spa on Saturday May 31, which will be featured in OK! Magazine. Those who attend the Awards will get the opportunity to rub shoulders with stars such as Gemma Atkinson and Diarmuid Gavin.
Event Director Mandy White said:
“We are asking people to enter and to attend the Awards dinner, with a donation from the sale of each ticket sold given to official show charity the Teenage Cancer Trust. We will be looking for cutting edge, individual designs that stand out. Designs will also be seen by our panel of judges, which is made up of leading industry professionals including interior designer Laura McCree. “Everyone who is shortlisted in this year’s Awards will receive professional photographs of their work, written feedback from our judges and publicity.”
The Property Awards have been established for more than a decade and were founded to promote excellence in house building in the North of England.

Visitors to the show will be invited to vote for their favourite room set or show garden and those with the most votes will receive their Awards at the Chester Grosvenor & Spa Hotel ceremony.
