National Good Communication Award for Housing Trust
Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) has been recognised for its outstanding communication skills. ChesterCare, the care and support service from the Trust, was among the top service providers that secured Cheshire County Council a nomination for a Good Communication Award.
CDHT representatives attended a glittering awards ceremony at London’s Emirates Stadium to celebrate the 2008 Good Communications Awards, sponsored by O2. The awards were open to local and central government departments and were divided into four local categories – Public Relations, Print, IT & Telecoms. Each category featured projects which have shown how government departments strive to convey information to staff and residents effectively. CDHT’s ChesterCare telecare service was a key factor in securing the Council’s commendation for Telecoms.
Fran Taberner, ChesterCare manager for CDHT, said:
“We’re delighted to have been nationally recognised for our telecare services. We’ve put a lot of effort into improving the service levels of ChesterCare to ensure that we are always in touch with customers.
In addition to regular home visits, our residents know we’re on the other end of the line with a 24/7 emergency mobile response, or just to talk.”
Vance Gallagher, Telecare Programme Manager from Cheshire County Council, said:
“Effectively the Good Communication Awards showcase the most impressive achievements made by the public sector. Organisations as diverse as local authorities, HM Prison Service, the National Patient Safety Agency and the Department for International Development were shortlisted for awards this year. We were very pleased to be shortlisted. This was a team effort and as a team we were there on the evening. This was a pat on the back for the service and a celebration of all we achieved throughout Cheshire.”
