Top North West Directors urged to 'Get Your Nominations In'
A North West businessman who is nearing the end of his reign as North West Director of the Year has put a call out to all business professionals: if you haven’t already nominated anyone, or even yourself, now is your chance.
All you need to do is go to the awards web site at http://www.armstrongcraven.com/iod/ and add your nominee’s name, job title, company, phone number and email address together with the category for which you are recommending them. The Institute of Directors then contacts the nominee for more information. There are two new, special awards this year – The Rising Star Award and the International Business Director of the Year Award.
Edwin Booth, Chairman of E H Booth and Co Ltd., winner of the IoD’s North West Director of the Year Award 2005, who also won the award for Lancashire Director of the Year said:
"Winning the Institute of Directors award was a real achievement for both myself and the business. It is fantastic that the IoD is recognising and highlighting the strengths of directors in the North West. It was a great surprise to be nominated and even more unexpected to win two awards".
The award categories are Director of the Year and Young Director of the Year (under 40) for each of the IoD Branch areas of Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Liverpool and Manchester. There is also an overall IoD North West Director of the Year and the Chairman’s Special Award for Services to North West Business. New, special awards this year are The Rising Star Award (under 20) and the International Business Director of the Year Award.
The deadline for nominations is June 2 – and nominees do not have to be members of the Institute of Directors to be considered. The awards will be judged by the cream of north west business.
