The Third Hand rained off - But the show must go on!
Chester Performs’ first ever production was put to the test last Friday when the weather forced the Youth Theatre’s open-air production of “The Third Hand” to move from St John’s Ruins into St John the Baptist Church due to heavy rain.
The site specific performance had taken place in the ruins as planned the previous evening as the weather was fine, but Friday brought severe weather warnings and the decision was made early evening to move the show into the Church.
“Thankfully, the whole group rose to the challenge” said Alison Jagger, Creative Producer, “We were very lucky as the Reverend David Chesters had already very kindly offered his Church as a location should the weather conspire against us, as was the case on Friday. The decision was made early evening to move inside, and the whole group pulled together to basically re-learn the staging of the whole play in a completely different location – not an easy task even for the most experienced of actors!”
