YOUR GATEWAY TO LOVE!

Last night the Gateway Theatre in Chester held a superb fun evening dedicated to finding a future mate, whilst having some fun with your mates.

The event took place in the Studio of the Gateway which was a beautifully decked out with red and white balloons, hearts and glittering confetti. After a dose of dutch courage in the form of their free drink from the bar, the speed daters, who were all numbered sat at their tables.

At 7pm the lights instructions were announced from the “Gateway Cupid” who explained that the girls would stay in their place whilst the guys rotated every four minutes, clockwise. The lights dimmed, the romantic background music commenced and the fun began!

There certainly seemed no shortage of lively chat and conversation as the speed daters took full advantage of the four short minutes to create a friend and possible future partner out of a stranger. At the end of the four minutes, the lights went up, signalling to the men to move around, and each “player in this game of love” marked their score cards on how they rated the last few minutes.

At 8pm, it was the turn of the 30- 40’s age group, some of whom came early to take advantage of the Gateway Bar. This, like the 20’s-30’s was a complete sell out, with people coming from all over Cheshire.

The evening went exceptionally well, with only one lady ending up having nobody to talk to for a few minutes whilst her opposite number had to take a phone call – he was a vet on call!
