Speed Dating to Continue
Saturday’s Speed Dating event organised by Fast Love at RB’s Nightclub in Northgate Street, Chester as part of the Chester Festival of Romance celebrations was a huge success with Chester’s “singles’.Over 70 single men and women arrived to enjoy the evening. The event was promoted as “three nights out in one’, with times for speed dating, three comedy acts, and finishing in an evening of dancing.
After their first drink of the night, the speed daters were split into age groups of 21-35 and 30-45. There was no shortage of lively chat as the speed daters took full advantage of the three short minutes to make an impression and hopefully find the partner of their dreams. At the end of the three minutes, the whistle was blown, signalling to the men to move around, while each participant marked their score cards for their last (speed) date.
The two comedians involved in the event were Ryan Gough and Geoff Norcott. Also taking part were comedy duo, Electric Forecast from London, who have appeared on kids TV programme ‘Big Cook, Little Cook’ and are regulars on ‘Soccer AM’.
Ajaz Iqbal, event co-ordinator for Fast Love, commented: “The event was a great success, in fact it went so well that we’re now going to make it a regular monthly event. A lot of the speed daters seemed to be pairing up on the night, and people liked the idea of being able to carry on talking to their fellow daters for the whole night rather than just for the 3-minute date.”
