Wedding first for Chester Cathedral
Chester Cathedral is no stranger to society weddings, with many brides passing through its doors in its 1100-year history. This year Chester Cathedral is staging its first wedding fayre, which will examine every aspect of that special day.
The bridal exhibition at Chester Cathedral on Sunday September 23 features marquee hire, decorations, wedding venues, makeup, clothes, honeymoon destinations, wedding cars and much more, not to mention the wedding service itself.
Three fashion shows will run at Chester Cathedral Refectory from noon, 1.15pm and 2.30pm on September 23, with more than 20 retailers included. Exhibitors feature The Bridal House, Wild Designs, The Cruise Store, Cocoa Flowers, Eden Floral Designs, Starbright Balloons and Chester Wedding Cars.
CF07 runs from September 17 to September 29 and retailers and designers across the city are working together to showcase the best fashion to rival London.
Stephen Wundke, chairman of Chester Fashion 2007, said: “Chester Cathedral is the perfect venue for a wedding fayre, which adds to the stunning programme of events for this year’s Chester Fashion 2007. I think couples will be stunned by the setting and the possibilities for their most important day. There will be more than 20 exhibitors, covering all aspects of getting married and admission is just £3, including full access to the Cathedral during the day.”
Chester’s Fashion 2007 forms an important part of Chester Festivals and is organised on behalf of Chester City Council and CHARISMA, with support from the Northwest Regional Development Agency, Visit Chester & Cheshire, Creative Industries Support Project (CRISP), The Mall Grosvenor, The Forum Shopping Centre, HSBC, 103.4 Marcher Sound and Trinity Mirror.
