Chester's Next Top Talent on Show at Chester Fashion 07

The long search to find the next Face of Chester will come to an end on Wednesday 26th September, as part of Chester Fashion 2007 (CF07). Guests and contestants at Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel will find out which male and female will each receive a year’s modelling contract with North West agency Boss Model Management and take the coveted title of Face of Chester. This talent double night from CF07 also includes New Designers who will be showcasing the very best graduate fashion in Cheshire.

Last year, Liam Collins, 28, and Jess Miller, 16, took the top prizes in The Face of Chester. As a result, Liam appeared in a TV commercial for Sky Sports and Jess has had interest from agencies in Japan, which she hopes to pursue this year.

The evening including New Designers is an opportunity for the general public to see haute couture up close from the next generation of fashion designers. Two awards will be given to the freshest talent from Cheshire colleges, including Young Fashion Designer of the Year and Young Fashion Photographer of the Year. There is a “garden’ theme this year, in anticipation of the Cheshire Year of the Gardens 2008, which will celebrate the gardens and green-fingered of Cheshire.

Stephen Wundke, chairman of Chester Fashion 2007, said:

“I can’t wait to see the new outfits from the young designers. There were some spectacular creations last year and this year should prove no different. Jess Miller and Liam Collins have had an amazing year working for Boss Model Management. The Face of Chester really kick started their careers. Jess will actually be modelling for MCC Apple in The Perfect Match event at the Racecourse from 4pm-7pm, just before the Face of Chester and New Designer Evening begins at 7:30pm. I look forward to welcoming everyone to the Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel on Wednesday and wish good luck to all the contestants!”

Chester’s Fashion 2007 forms an important part of Chester Festivals and is organised on behalf of Chester City Council and CHARISMA, with support from the Northwest Regional Development Agency, Visit Chester & Cheshire, Creative Industries Support Project (CRISP), The Mall Grosvenor, The Forum Shopping Centre, HSBC, 103.4 Marcher Sound and Trinity Mirror.
