Ferrari launch at La Dolce Vita
Luxury travel company Grand Tourist will be exhibiting at one of the UK’s largest celebrations of all things Italian this week. Grand Tourist, which specialises in the finest that Europe has to offer, is launching its new range of driving holidays at La Dolce Vita show in London from March 13 to 16.
Grand Tourist’s tailor-made experiences combine driving Ferrari’s across Italy with stays at historic palazzo hotels and renaissance villas.
Chester based Grand Tourist specialises in revealing the finest of Italian culture; weekend breaks to the island of Ischia, where The Talented Mr Ripley was filmed, gastronomy and wine tours to Senigallia, retail therapy breaks to Le Marche, tailor-made trips to Venice, tours of Palladian villas and “learn Italian’ weeks.
Ferrari’s available to drive include the 430 Spider F1, 599 GTB Fiorano, 430 Scuderia F1 and 612 Scaglietti F1.
Director of Grand Tourist Janet Simmonds said:
“The four day La Dolce Vita show is a fantastic opportunity for Grand Tourist to launch our exclusive Ferrari driving holidays and showcase what we can offer. We specialise in designing unique and magical, tailor-made journeys for clients and small groups. We offer a personalised service and can organise tour guides with exceptional local knowledge of the regions of Italy. Whilst in Italy the art of Florence, Venice and Rome is there to enjoy. I want to share my love of travel and my knowledge of Italy; to help people to discover the hidden gems of Italy, to introduce clients to new restaurants, luxurious country houses and welcoming vineyards, where a private tasting or a tour is never too much trouble! It’s really my mission to introduce these fascinating places to my valued clients. For me it’s about rediscovering the art of travel.”
Grand Tourist offers a range of travel guides for London, Paris, Geneva, Rome and Venice, the European cities visited by the original Grand Tourists. These guides provide ideas for the modern visitor including restaurants, sight-seeing, bars, galleries and museums.
Grand Tourist will be exhibiting at stand T76 at the Grand Hall, Olympia, as part of La Dolce Vita. There is a black tie Gala Evening on Thursday from 6pm to 9.30pm, with the exhibition opening from 11am to 8pm on Friday and Saturday and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
Grand Tourist supports the Roald Dahl Foundation.

Notes:
In the 18th century, the Grand Tour was an educational pilgrimage or a rite of passage for wealthy British noblemen. Starting in London, it was a period of European travel which could last from a few months to many years. During the Tour, young men learned about the politics, culture, art and antiquities of neighbouring countries. They spent their time sightseeing, studying, shopping and having fun!
Just as the Grand Tourists experienced the spectacle of glaciers in the Alps, Renaissance Palaces in Italy and the magic of the Venetian lagoon, these treasures remain to be discovered today. Grand Tourist is here to help recapture the essence of travel as experienced by the original Grand Tourists.
If clients are looking for the elusive quality of travel experience that is so hard to find in today’s hectic consumer-driven world, then talk to Grand Tourist. As well as planning European tours, a Tour of Jordan and the Lands of the Bible is also available.
Director of Grand Tourist Janet Simmonds has more than 20 years experience in the travel industry. She graduated from Oxford University in the early 80’s and spent several years working as a tour operator and running her own travel business in Italy, France and the United States. Later she returned to University to study for a Masters Degree in the History of Art and specialised in the Grand Tour of the 18th and 19th centuries.
