Liverpool Director of the Year
Neil Pakey is Chief Executive Officer of Peel Airports Limited, owners and operators of Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, Durham Tees Valley Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Prior to joining Peel Airports Limited, Mr Pakey held several key roles for Manchester Airport p.l.c., particularly in Marketing, Operations and Planning. During his career, he has also worked for two airlines: British Caledonian Airways and Air Seychelles, where he was Director of Marketing and Industry Affairs. Mr Pakey was also seconded to the aviation unit of the European Commission in Brussels for a three year period from 1991 – 1994.
Deborah Shackleton is Group Chief Executive of the Riverside Group, one of the largest housing associations in the country, which is based in Merseyside. She has been involved in housing and regeneration for over twenty five years, and is a Board Member of the National Housing Federation and Liverpool John Moores University.

Following his PhD in Aerospace supply chain management, Tom Dawes formed Aerogistics as a one man consultancy company focusing on operations improvement of small aerospace firms. Within just 3 years the company has grown to 140 employees and is a global supply chain management company with manufacturing sites in the UK and Poland. Aerogistics is currently setting up in China and has plans to establish a base in India within the next two years.
Incorporated in 1999 with just two employees, Ben Hatton (30) Managing Director of Rippleffect has grown the multi-award winning Rippleffect to a £1.5M+ turnover, a team of 24 and an impressive client list which includes the NWDA, Everton FC, West Ham United FC, TGWU, Living Ventures, Littlewoods and Heathcotes. Ben left school at 16 and obtained his degree in America. The company is involved with charity work and national charities.
Matt Johnson co-founded Mando Group in 1997 with Ian Finch. Since then Matt has seen Mando Group grow under his creative leadership, passion to get things right and doing things just a little bit differently. Matt has also developed two other businesses Inspire Nation a strategic learning organisation running study trips across the globe for leading CEO’s and Brava Design one of the UK’s leading Social enterprises training female design graduates.
