Owner wrestles with French for unstoppable wine at food and drink festival

Artisan Wines Ltd. is less than a year old and already strong arm tactics have been required!

Andrew Kerr, for whom an obsession became a business when he started up Artisan Wines near Chester last May, has managed to cajole, coax and in some cases literally wrestle cherished wines from the clutches of their French producers and bring them back to the UK.

The hand-crafted wines he sells are made by small, passionate producers – wines that normally stay in France. He plans to show how the French are holding their own amongst the best wines in the World.

To demonstrate this he has launched an impressive and intelligent web site, www.artisanwines.co.uk with a growing and steady band of followers in the North West. This latter day Robin Hood of the wine world, challenges anyone to find Artisan’s wines on supermarket shelves. He also sends helpful tasting notes with each bottle purchased from his web site. Will he manage to educate the British on great French wines?

Andrew Kerr; “It is an unstoppable challenge and that is why we are at Chester Food and Drink Festival this weekend with a special Festival wine tasting case. Stops will come out of the bottles so that visitors to the ‘taste’ marquee can do just that, taste some fantastic hand-picked wines. They will also learn how to enjoy the wines to the full, about the growers and their regions and about what makes the wines so special. Once people have tried these amazing wines, I’m sure I wont have to employ the same tactics to convince them to buy as I do with the producers to get them to sell!”

The price of the Festival case is £75 including delivery.

Artisan Wines Ltd. was set up in May 2005 to enable wine drinkers in the UK to drink quality French wines that the French like to keep for themselves. Artisan offers authentic and individual wines which are selected directly from the wine producers and available at great prices because of this. They can be ordered online at www.artisanwines.co.uk or are occasionally available at special events.

The web site offers a comprehensive and prestigious selection of wines which are very keenly priced. There are also mixed case selections with special discounts, plus first-come, first served offers of hard to get wines.

Each wine order can be tracked until it is delivered to the door. Wines come with comprehensive tasting notes and friends and relatives can order for you from your ‘wish list’ of wines, a great idea for birthdays or special occasions.

Anyone visiting the web site for the first time can request the newsletter to pour over!

So much to choose!
