Web Services & BI Contract Win from Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials
Information Management Solutions Ltd. (IMS), the dynamic IT consultancy for business solutions, is to provide Business Intelligence and Web Services to Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials. Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, a subsidiary of Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH), is a world leader in electronic materials and process technology development. The agreement covers consultancy, software and services.
IMS is working with Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials to extend the current Business Intelligence solution to include Quality Data. Quality is of paramount importance to Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, a key supplier to the semiconductor and circuit board industries. The solution provided by IMS will enhance the already comprehensive Quality Systems in place within Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials. It will allow the integration of data from different regions across the world into a single Data Warehouse.
An important component of this solution is to connect a Web Service interface to the data warehouse. This means that with appropriate security, a customer can retrieve Quality Information pertaining to the products supplied to them and integrate that directly within their own systems, all without manual intervention. As well as the Web Service interface, data will continue to be available by email and standard browser based interactions.

The technology used will be Microsoft SQL Server for the data warehouse, Microsoft C# and the dot-NET framework for the Web Service interface and XML as the data transfer mechanism.
The first phase of the project will be completed by April 2003 and has an initial value of $40,000. The project will be driven from IMS’ UK offices.
