Young Directors climb to great heights, literally
Having reached a very high point at the last Young Directors’ Forum event on the 23rd floor of the Hilton Hotel with Ruth Badger, the Institute of Directors’ young directors forum is aiming for another great height on Wednesday, 28th February 2007 at the North West’s newest and the country’s finest indoor Manchester Climbing Centre.
The centre opened just 18 months ago, and fuelled by a rapid growth of interest in the sport, it has quickly become one of the city’s most popular leisure facilities. Built within what was a disused church, routes from easy to difficult now clad the walls, and reach up into the church spire.
Inspiration for Manchester Climbing Centre comes from John Dunne, whose climbing career has spanned over 25 years. During this time he has been ranked as one of the top ten climbers in the world. American magazine Rock and Ice voted him one of most important activists of the last 100 years.

He will be taking attendees on a journey through some of his most thrilling climbing experiences, to his most recent challenges in becoming director of a start-up business, and the country’s finest indoor climbing centre.
The IoD Young Directors’ Forum is all about encouraging younger aspiring entrepreneurial talent. We exist to support those in the region who are perhaps new to a leadership role by offering innovative networking opportunities, alongside proven personal development programmes, encouraging them to higher heights!
