Chester Romance and Food and Drink Festivals Search for Sponsorship

Chester Festival of Romance (4 – 14 February 2005) and Food and Drink Festival (26 March – 3 April 2005) are looking for sponsors. Both had extensive TV, radio, regional and national press coverage this year and expect even more next year.

This year’s Festival of Romance, England’s first, involved more than 246 events and an estimated 9,000 people observing or taking part in events including a lover’s leap for charity, candlelit cuddle up concert, cinema screenings, tea dances, canal & river cruises, window dressing competition, supermarket singles night, speed dating, poetry reading and special hotel & restaurant packages. The Festival culminated with a wedding blessing at the Cathedral. The 2005 Festival also expects an exhibition of the Shell Collection of Valentine Cards, a romance fayre, Valentine’s ball, “hand-in-hand’ charity walk around the City Walls for all ages and additional events already in planning.

Chester’s 4th Food & Drink Festival will have a large “taste sensation’ marquee in the City Centre with over 60 food and drink producers, celebrity chef demonstrations, with Gary Rhodes, Simon Rimmer & Andrew Nutter already confirmed. The cheese rolling is back, the ale assize, sausage trail and the medieval banquet. The Festival coincides with the School Easter holidays which will enable families to enjoy the food, drink and special events around the City. The festival ends with the prestigious Food and Drink awards.
