GCSE Result Statistics August 2005
The Queen’s School, Chester, Cheshire has followed hot on the heels of its excellent A-Level results with outstanding GCSE results, confirming its place as one of the country’s leading schools. 41.5 % of the results were A, with 80.2 % A and A grade and 95.5% A,A and B grades. 99.6% gained grades A-C.
In addition, 7 girls gained 10 grades A* and 30 out of 70, nearly half of the girls gained 10 GCSEs at A and A*.
Headmistress, Catherine Buckley said: “I am elated by the GCSE results this year. The staff and I are delighted that the girls at Queen’s have managed to attain such a high level of academic achievement whilst continuing with all their extra-curricular activities. At Queen’s we actively encourage the girls to participate in sporting, musical and social activities and it is heartening to see that the girls are capable of maintaining successful social and academic lives simultaneously. Our students have once again excelled themselves and should be very proud. I congratulate them all on their outstanding success.”
