About Chester Literature Festival 2008

Chester in October becomes a whirl of books and book people, reading, writing and thought-provoking talks.

With another exciting buzz of celebrity guests and local events, the city will be alive with star names from literature, theatre, the media and intrigue as the art of letters in all its forms is set out to inform and above all, entertain.

Top children’s authors, workshops, book signings and showcasing local writers are all part of this year’s bumper package studded with events to appeal to everyone.

This, the 20th year, has more events than ever before and are delighted to welcome again the UK’s poet laureate and our festival patron, Andrew Motion, who will be reading from his own work as well as awarding the Cheshire Prize for Literature.

According to The Daily Post the Festival is ‘an amazing roll-call of class acts’. Come ready to be inspired, enlightened and entertained.
